WORKS IN PROGRESS: OUR PROCESS FROM START TO FINISH

Rock of Ages Prop Car- Toronto

Beowulf Borrit Designed

We thought it would be fun to record a time lapse video of an entire project that we did at our shop.
When we got the job to build a prop car for the Rock of Ages show in Toronto we knew that was the perfect project for this idea. We loved the results, hope you do too!

Speakers on for added effect

And the final product is this

The Fafi Project:

Our good friends at MAC Cosmetics approached us with an intersting project. They wanted to build 7ft replicas of dolls created by french graffitti artist Fafi. These dolls are called Fafinettes and are the face and logo for the newest line/lifestyle of cosmetics from MAC.

This is a timeline of our process

This is the model from which we based the Fafi mold,        This is the carved and sculpted mold used to form the replica     they are available for purchase at MACcosmetics.com

The mold was used to create a plastic relief using a process called Vacu-Forming.

After cutting the Vacu-Form we attached masonite backs

Then it was time to paint

Graphics were applied to the back and base

Eriko, Ermine, and Monoka are the final result

Then we repeat!

We also did an install of the Fafi's at Henri Bendels for their premiere
